Office Politics was an uplifting, at times daft creation but long term watchers will know that there's a darker side to Neil Hannon's soul and this is explored in Rainy Sunday Afternoon. It sees the singer explore mortality, memories and relationships through his classy orchestral pop vision. It's not nice to think of your favourite musician being sad but often some great music can come out of it.
